Price/Value Scores

As we got into wines we realized that the key deterimant of value is how good was the wine relative to what we paid for it. A 95 point $20 bottle is a much better deal than a $80 bottle that we would score 96 points.

So we started to quantify it! How do we do it?

1. Each wine is assigned a number of dollar signs based on how much money we paid for it. This PDF document shows how it works.

2. We rate the wine based on our perception. We use a 100 point scale.

3. Each wine is assigned a price/value score. 10 is a supreme value and 1 is a grevious purchasing error. This PDF document shows how it works.

Here is a PDF document that shows many of the wines we have consumed over the past few years and how they ranked! We highly recommend buying wines that are scored an 8 or above. To learn how, go to our how to buy wine section!
